Congratulations to multiple championship winning slot car veteran James Cleave, who was invincible on his home track at the first ever LSCC open slotstox meeting for the 'Best in Beds' trophy. 21 racers participated with James also winning the Rob's Repairs Smart Car award. Other notable performances included an impressive drive to 3rd in the final for Kev Nicholls, plus best yellow top award, while his son Sam earned the crash of the day after Simon Burgess put him over the fence with a spectacular hit.
Congratulations to Coventry based slotstocker Dave Granaghan Junior, who last Saturday added the coveted A Talbot Tribute trophy to his bulging collection. The 2018 event was kindly hosted by the Greyhound Inn, and raised almost £400 on the Saturday alone, to be donated of course to the SUDEP charity, who do so much fantastic work to control and prevent epilepsy. Reigning Parmastox Champion #152 Mark West produced a series of convincing drives to win the annual Best in Britain & BSA round 2 at ARC on 14-4-18.
And he's being well supported by the missus #331 Charlotte, young gun #259 Leon and top enthusiast #150 Chaps, as they currently sit 1st 2nd 3rd 4th in the 2018 National Series!
Can anyone challenge them?

Slotstox veteran Jon Penn #306 may have only raced twice since moving to Somerset last year, but on both occasions he's come up trumps. In June 2017 he drove a blinder to win the Ipswich Open, then in March 2018 drove over 200 miles to win Metal Mania VII and round 1 of the BSA series at Wellgate near Romford. On Saturday April 14th 2018 we understand Jon is journeying from Scotland to Ipswich to try and win BSA round 2, the Best in Britain, at the ARC track he fared so well on last year. Expect Westy #152 & Co to have something to say about that! Whatever, it'll be fun ….
|Best in Britain||Richard Sleeman||#555|
|National Points||Mark West||#152|
… plus all the club gold and silver tops.
All of the above will start at the back of the grid at all BSA rounds in 2018.
